The CCSD Presented Its Main Areas of Activity at Devconnect 2025

In November 2025, Buenos Aires hosted Devconnect, the annual event organized by the Ethereum Foundation that brings together developers, researchers, and academic institutions from around the world. In this context, CCSD director Pablo Deymonnaz presented the center's main areas of activity during a special session aimed at Latin American universities.

The session brought together faculty, researchers, and students from universities across the region to coordinate research and training agendas in cryptography and distributed systems. CCSD’s participation in Devconnect is part of its relationship with LambdaClass, which facilitates the center’s access to international events and networks within the ecosystem.

About Pablo Deymonnaz

A Computer Engineer from UBA and director of the program at FIUBA, Deymonnaz specializes in concurrent programming and distributed systems. He has led the incorporation of Rust — a programming language valued for its memory safety and performance in concurrent systems — into FIUBA's undergraduate courses, and leads the Reinvent laboratory, where research is conducted in IoT, operating systems, and distributed architectures.

The regional context

Hosting Devconnect in Argentina was, in itself, a signal of the country’s place in the global ecosystem of decentralized technologies. The CCSD’s presence in that space served a clear purpose: to establish working relationships with universities in the region that help build critical mass in an area where the demand for qualified researchers and developers far exceeds the current supply.

The center will continue to expand its network of institutions and open scholarship calls in the coming months.
